If your home contains fleas, there is a high chance it came from your pets. On the other hand, If your home doesn’t include pets, you may wonder how the infestation appeared. Flea eggs can survive dormant for long periods, sometimes up to 18 months. So fleas could be present if the previous owner kept cats or dogs. Furthermore, fleas can attach themselves to other animals, such as rabbits, foxes, squirrels, rats and mice.
Although flea bites are of great concern to you and your family, we strongly recommend not to try and remove fleas yourself. The reason is due to the lifecycle of a flea; it can be a never-ending battle to kill all eggs, larva, pupa and adults. Instead, please leave it to the professionals at Tornado Pest Control. Our technicians are fully trained to treat fleas and have access to a range of professional-use insecticides unavailable to the public.
Please call us on 07377995318 to discuss your flea problem, ask about our pricing, or book a flea control treatment.

Signs you have a flea infestation
When identifying if fleas have infested your home, you should look out for some key indications. Some can seem obvious, such as scratching, but others are less obvious such as the allergic reaction fleas cause due to the saliva they produce. If you notice any of the following signs, fleas may have infested your home, and you, your family and your pets are at serious risk of being bit.
- Scratching: Has your dog or cat been scratching more than usual? Fleas will bite your pets, constantly sucking their blood. Thankfully, if you run your fingers through your pet’s hair, there is a high chance you’ll be able to see the fleas.
- Bites: Humans are also at risk of being bitten by fleas. Fleas typically bite around the ankles, and they are extremely itchy. We understand the stress and concern, especially if you have children. Please speak to our expert team on 07377995318 for advice and guidance surrounding flea removal.
- Hair loss: As mentioned previously, fleas produce saliva that can cause allergic reactions in your pets. Combine this with the constant scratching and licking; pets are often seen with bald patches due to flea infestations.
- Sightings: If you have a flea problem in your home, you’ll likely see jumpers in your carpets. A surefire way to know if you have an infestation is to spot them while they are moving. However, you’ll have to look closely as they are tiny.
Our professional team can provide pest control in Doncaster if you’ve noticed any of the above signs. We only use the highest quality insecticides and Insect Growth Regulators to treat fleas. For just as little as £150, you can ensure that fleas are eradicated and will no longer cause problems in your home.
Preparing for a flea treatment
To ensure our flea treatments are 100% effective, we require an extra hand with things out of our control.
First, if you own pets, we’ll ask you to remove them from your home and ensure they have been flea treated by a vet.
When you return to your home, we ask you not to hoover or mop the treated areas for five days. This allows eggs to hatch and our powerful insecticide to produce its full impact. We recommend leaving your home for a few hours while we treat it and ensure you open all windows and doors when you return.
